Colmer's Hill shrugs off the damp morning shroud of mist.

It's said that when, Sigismund landed with his viking raiding party near Bridport, he saw the beacon burning on Colmer's Hill and declared that it would now be known as Sigismund's Berg, giving his name in the process to the village of Symondsbury that lies at the foot of Colmer's.
